The Adams County Office of Emergency Management conducts planning, coordination, communications, and operations for the safety and security of all citizens of Adams County.
Responsibilities
The Adams County Emergency Manager has responsibilities for the day-to-day emergency management programs. The Emergency Management Office cooperates with a comprehensive network of local, state, and federal Emergency Management personnel, governmental agencies, law enforcement, fire, ambulance, and other emergency personnel, also including private businesses, voluntary organizations, and individuals to identify potential hazards and apply the four phases of Emergency Management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery, to develop an emergency action plan for each potential natural, technological, or man-made hazard.
Adams County's Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan was recently approved by the State and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for implementation throughout the county to improve hazard mitigation and reduce losses due to the most likely natural, man-made or technological hazards.
